Meet Our Pastor...

Pastor - James Lewis:
    Brother Lewis has pastored Harvest Baptist Temple since 1973, and had served the Lord in other areas of ministry including youth and music since being saved at age 13.  When it comes to the work of the church, Brother Lewis has done it all -- from Sunday School Teacher, state and local youth director, choir director, missions director, sports director, evangelist, and college teacher to janitor, assistant pastor, bus driver, vbs helper, school teacher and principal, and of course pastor.  This well-rounded experience gives Pastor Lewis unique insight into the many challenges of church ministry.  He also holds a Masters degree in theology.

   In addition, Pastor Lewis also preaches a number of youth rallies, revivals, and fellowship meetings.

   Anyone who knows Pastor Lewis knows he LOVES music!  "When We All Get To Heaven", is his enthusiastic reply when asked about his favorite song.  His favorite passage of scripture would be I Jn. 5:14,15: "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desire of him."  "And my hero", says Brother Lewis, "is definitely Elijah."

  When not at the church, or out making visitation calls, Pastor Lewis can sometimes be found enjoying God's beautiful outdoors while hunting, fishing, golfing, or playing basketball.  He has a passion for reading as well.
